Emmi Nakagawa
Emmi brings a unique set of skills versed in both creative services and production management. She spent over a decade in the visual effects industry in Los Angeles, CA working on various projects in film, television, video games, and amusement parks around the world. Her strong organizational and managerial skills, alongside her experience and understanding of the creative process, have helped achieve the visions and demands of high-profile clients while maintaining their budgets and deadlines.
As she found herself in front of the computer more and more through work, she noticed she was happier when she started attending dance fitness classes. She viewed dance as her “therapy” that kept her mental health in check. Learning how dance and movement can have so much positive impact on our brain health, she knew she needed to lean into that more. Although working in the entertainment field had always felt natural to her, Emmi also had a strong interest in the healthcare industry. As mental health awareness grew tremendously over the last several years, Emmi also wanted to make a bigger impact in helping people with their health, especially their brain health. Art and Science go hand in hand, and that's where she wanted to be. Emmi currently teaches dance fitness classes around Los Angeles to spread the benefits for our brain health, one joyful dance session at a time.
In 2024, Emmi joined the team at B+HARI as Director of Communications, bringing together her many diverse skill sets. She is extremely honored to share the story of the organization's unique approach to enhancing brain health in settings including art and entertainment, architectural design, culinary, hospitality, sports and performance, education systems, as well as traditional healthcare settings.
