Elim Ng, D.ARCH, RA
Elim Ng is an architect whose work explores how environmental design shapes human experience and well-being. Guided by a genuine commitment to people, she views architecture as both an artistic and ethical practice that supports comfort, safety, and long-term resilience. Her passion lies in biophilic and evidence-based design, drawing on natural forms, cultural traditions, and sensory experiences to create spaces that nurture joy and connection.
She holds a Master’s degree from Tongji University in Shanghai, where she studied the relationship between architecture and emotional relativity, examining how the built environment can shift human perceptions. She later completed her Doctorate of Architecture at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, researching how cultural influences such as Feng Shui can inform human behavior and spaces of living.
Her professional journey has taken her across Asia, with immersive experiences in Hong Kong, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, and Singapore. These encounters broadened her architectural perspective and strengthened her ability to approach design challenges from diverse cultural and emotional viewpoints.
Elim began her career at Honolulu-based firm G70, where she spent seven years leading projects in community, hospitality, and education. She now serves as Chief Creative Officer at I-ON Group, shaping development and design strategies that bring narratives to life while balancing innovation with practical impact.
As a member of the B+HARI faculty, Elim works at the intersection of design and science. She produces material that is both compelling and relatable, drawing from her expertise across scales of work, from branding and master planning to technical detail. At B+HARI, she applies this experience to translate complex ideas into frameworks that are human-centered, accessible, and actionable.
